    Abstract:

    A U-shaped single vortex water washer for fruits and vegetables was designed and its effect on vortex water washing was investigated. Results showed that the three-dimensional distribution and the intensity of interaction between transverse and longitudinal jets were optimal when the ratio of transverse to longitudinal jet flow was 2 and the longitudinal jet hole was left,significantly forming vortex and promoting the migration of single vortex to outlets. The experimental results were consistent with those from the numerical simulation.
