Experimental Studies on Anti-Inflammatory and Antitussive Activity of Extract from Reineckia carnea and Associated Pharmacodynamics

    Abstract:

    The objective of this study is to study relieving a cough and anti-inflammation effects of different extract part from Reineckia carnea.For this,the different extract part of Reineckia carnea were orally administrated to coughing mice induced by ammonia liquor in mice and xylene-induced mouse ear swelling model in mice,respectively,to investigate their medication effect on coughing and anti-inflammation.It was found that both ethanol extract and water extract had obvious effect on anti-inflammation(P<0.05),ethanol extract lengthened the latent period of cough at high and low dose(P<0.05),and high dose decrease cough frequency(P<0.05).The water extract fraction lengthened the latent period of cough as well as the ethanol extract at high dose.The petroleum ether extract had not obvious effect on anti-inflammation and coughing.Based on the aboved results,it can concluded that the anti-inflammatory,cough active chemical composition were mainly concentrated in the consumption of alcohol extract parts and water extract high doses parts.
