    Abstract:

A variety of anticancer drugs induced cell death in the major form of cell apoptosis. It is of great significance to study the mechanisms on cell apoptosis for improvement the efficacy and development of new antineoplastic agents.Yeast is the single cell eukaryote that can be induced to undergo apoptosis, and mechanism of apoptosis in cells from yeast to mammals, are highly conserved, and that the yeast has become an important research model organism. This review focused on yeast apoptosis induced by the cytotoxic anticancer drugs, including the typical characteristics of apoptosis, key regulators, signal pathway, and apoptosis-related phenotypes.
