    Abstract:

In this manuscript, factorial design and response surface techniques were used to design and optimize the nutrient and environmental conditions for tetrodotoxin production from Bacillus horikoshii S184.The content of peptone and phosphate, inoculum has been identified as three significant parameters for tetrodotoxin production by Plackett-Burman design.Based on those results, the optimum conditions were achieved by response surface techniques. With the optimum conditions, the yield of tetrodotoxin was increased to 1 900.60 ng/L from 666.65 ng/L.
